Important COVID-19 Information For Our Patients.
March 15, 2020
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we will be making changes to the way we deliver your care. Our goal is to minimize potential exposure to as many people as possible to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Effective Mar 16, 2020, we will be leveraging new technologies to provide your care via telephone and/or virtual consultation. The goal here is to reduce your exposure to COVID-19 and to protect everyone during this very serious pandemic.
Telephone/Virtual appointments can be booked online at https://www.dakotamedical.ca/ or you can call the clinic at (204) 254-2087 to make an appointment. For medication refills, we will accept requests from your pharmacist if you are unable to book a telephone appointment prior to running out of your medications. Be assured that via telephone, we will still be able to follow-up on outstanding results, investigate new complaints, order bloodwork, arrange imaging tests and make referrals to specialists as needed.
In order to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 we ask for your help. If you have respiratory symptoms (cough, cold, fever, runny nose, sore throat) AND HAVE RECENTLY TRAVELLED OUTSIDE OF MANITOBA or have had contact with someone with respiratory symptoms WHO HAS RECENTLY TRAVELLED OUTSIDE OF MANITOBA, we ask that you STAY HOME and book a telephone consultation instead.
Please note, we DO NOT offer COVID-19 testing at Dakota Medical Centre. If you need to be tested for COVID-19, you can call HealthLinks at (204) 788-8200 or 1-888-315-9527. Healthlinks will then direct you to one of the following designated testing sites in Winnipeg from 9AM-7PM Monday to Friday and 9AM-4PM on weekends:
1. Access West (280 Booth Drive, phone: 204-940-2040)

The most up-to-date COVID-19 information and resources for the public can be found on the Manitoba Health website and should be reviewed daily. https://www.gov.mb.ca/health/coronavirus/
With regard to your greater social obligation, we urge you to wash your hands regularly and stay home as much as possible. We strongly urge you to reconsider attending large public venues and events and refrain from travelling. The more successful we are at social distancing, the best chance we have at minimizing the impact of this virus. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this. These changes will be regularly assessed and are in place until further notice.
